The Agency Layer
Web 4’s four conditions converge only if an agency layer exists — the open protocols through which agents discover, identify, authorise, trust, transact with and audit one another — and that layer, not any single agent, is the durable product the studio is really building beneath every venture.

Why then
A thesis with no timing argument is an observation. This is what changed that made the company possible in that year and not three years earlier.
Agents became competent enough to be given real work in the same period they became numerous enough that no organisation could say what its own software had done. Capability and unaccountability arrived together, and the missing piece was never intelligence — it was a layer that lets one organisation’s agents act with another’s without either surrendering control.
The wedge
The narrow first thing. A thesis without one is a market map, and a market map is not a company.
Build the one condition that is genuinely the estate’s — accountable coordination — and publish the protocols around it as open formats, so a venture assembles the other three from running layers rather than constructing them over five years.
What has to be true
Each assumption stated so it can be checked rather than agreed with. A reader who disagrees with one of these disagrees with the company, which is the point of writing them down separately.

What would kill it
One falsifier, not a list. A thesis with five has none, because no one of them ever quite happens and the company survives every partial version.
A large agent platform ships portable delegation, discovery and audit as open formats and reaches an independent adopter before the estate does — in which case the layer exists, but the estate is a tenant of it rather than its author.
What dates it
The earliest artefact that could only exist if the thesis already did. It bounds the thesis from above rather than dating its formation — the belief precedes the commit, always.
