The Machine Door
Every site will need a machine door — a standard surface telling a visiting agent who to speak to and what may be asked — and the gateway that runs those doors is the CDN of Web 4: a thing everyone needs, cheap to run and expensive to be without.

Why then
A thesis with no timing argument is an observation. This is what changed that made the company possible in that year and not three years earlier.
The human web already taught every site to publish a homepage, a contact page and a robots file; the agentic web asks for the equivalent aimed at software, and agents are now numerous enough that a site with no door for them is a site turning away traffic it cannot see. The pattern is set and the surface is not yet standard.
The wedge
The narrow first thing. A thesis without one is a market map, and a market map is not a company.
Publish the open door protocol first and run the commercial gateway on top of it, so a property adopts a vendor-neutral surface rather than a lock-in, and the estate’s own concierge proves the intake before the gateway is sold.
What has to be true
Each assumption stated so it can be checked rather than agreed with. A reader who disagrees with one of these disagrees with the company, which is the point of writing them down separately.

What would kill it
One falsifier, not a list. A thesis with five has none, because no one of them ever quite happens and the company survives every partial version.
The major content-delivery networks ship an agent door as a default feature of every site they front — at which point the standalone gateway has no room, because the door arrived free with infrastructure everyone already runs.
What dates it
The earliest artefact that could only exist if the thesis already did. It bounds the thesis from above rather than dating its formation — the belief precedes the commit, always.
