Agentic internet
The agentic internet is the layer of open protocols through which software agents discover, identify, authorise, trust, transact with and audit one another — Web 4 named for what it does rather than for the assets that move across it.
Web 4 is the assets. The agentic internet is the plumbing under them.
The four conditions describe what an economy on the convergence needs. The agentic internet is the specific way the fourth of them — a workforce of software — is being built: not one company’s agent, but the open protocols any agent has to speak to be found, to prove who authorised it, to be trusted, to move value and to leave a record.
The estate’s position is that the durable value sits in those protocols rather than in the agents. An agent is a product somebody will build better and cheaper next quarter; the protocol it must conform to is where the position holds, for as long as it is the one people conform to. The map of the whole stack is a public repository, and the studio reads it the way a stranger would.
