Consented trust
Consented trust is routing an introduction along real relationships that each owner approves, rather than by a purchasable score — trust a counterparty cannot buy, because the thing being crossed is a relationship and only its owner consents to the crossing.
A relationship cannot be bought, which is exactly why it routes better than a score.
A reputation score is a number, and a number is for sale — through activity that games its measurement if not through the market directly. Consented trust routes on the one asset that resists this: a relationship, which exists only if both parties say it does. An introduction crosses each edge only when the edge’s owner consents, no reward mechanic can influence the routing, and a declined introduction is indistinguishable from a path that never existed.
The commercial claim is that this beats a score on the metric that matters, which is fraud on a comparable population, precisely because it cannot be manufactured. The falsifier is a reputation-score marketplace achieving lower fraud on a like-for-like population — at which point the relationship was not the scarce thing after all.
